My car makes a puff of gray smoke when I mash it in 1st gear, no other time. I just did a full tune up including o2 sensors. I had no oil or water on my plugs. The car runs strong and smooth. Like I said the car only smoke when I gun it from 1st gear, not while cruising and not at idle, what could this be?

You mash the throttle, the throttle position sensor (TPS) goes to WOT (wide open throttle), the ECM sends in a rich shot like you hit the accelerator pump; you see a vapor flow out of the rear, which is more rich is that is it is my guess.

Your car runs fine otherwise is you have a strong running car and she is working pretty good according to your post. And if it is more tan in color than white oil smoke that lingers in the air, where the tan will evaporate immediately is your car sounds like there is no problem; except for your right foot doing funny things is I'd try Keds or Nike for more of a supple pedal movement if that helps.

More than likely condensation because it's cold outside and you can see the carbon monoxide better in the cold. Usually gray/white smoke is an indication of a blown head gasket. However, this is most likely not the case. Your car would run like sh1t and your oil would look milky. Plus the engine would overheat.

Oil is clean and the car runs great, no overheating. Its done this since I got it in september and its not cold in florida in september. Its only when I gun it from a stop or a slow 1st gear roll:shrug:

Man if you got a Mustang with an O/R pipe, it's gunna spit black smoke from time to time. Stock WOT tunes run a bit rich. If there are not cats on the car to clean up the extra fuel it shows it's self as black smoke.
If it is white smoke, that is an indication of moisture. Which can either be from condensation in the exhaust, or water entering the combustion chamber. But like stated your car would run like **** if there was a problem.
Blue smoke is an indication of oil burning. Which would usually mean piston rings, or other motor wear.
If you smoke is truly gray, that is your pistons being chewed up bad from detonation, typically with a poweradder. Once you see this your motor usually needs a teardown. Since your car is stock, I HIGHLY doubt this.

YOUR CAR IS FINE! Now go do a burnout just to make sure!

Car has a high flow catted H(2 cats). Could it be a issue with the cats?

what brand cats? some of the aftermarket cats arn't really that effective. Or they could have blown out. How long has it been on the car. And what exact color is the smoke? If the car runs fine, and the plugs, oil, and coolant look ok I wouldn't worry.

i have close to the same mods as you, but i have no cats, with about 108k on my motor, and somtimes after i sit at a light 3-4 min, when i rev it to take off, it will puff out a cloud of smoke. i think it just the valve guide seals tho.

3-4 min. remember mine would do it in 3-4 seconds before we used motor honey. i could used my car to exterminate misquitos in the neighborhood:rlaugh:
