Hawkeye421 said:For those of you that want to know I am seriously looking at buying either the 2004 Mach 1 or the 2005 GT. I am going thru a divorce and property settlement was recently moved out to Oct 4th so that probably killed my chance of getting one of several Mach 1's at CrossRoad Ford in Raleigh, NC. By the time property is settled my option will be the 2005 GT. It has been 30 years since I have had a sports car and I am excited about the posibility of getting a 2005 GT. I think the 3 valve 4.6 with 300 hp is impressive compared to the 2004 Mach 1 that I was going to get having a 4 valve 4.6 with 305HP. I also like the looks of the 2005, reminds me of the 69 & 70 mustangs when I was in my prime.

How is that "forcing" an opinion? Every one of his statements are statements of fact, not opinion, with the exception of styling, for whick he clearly typed "IMHO". Every time somebody says that the '05 is an improvement over the '04, you get defensive. Try to be more objective, less emotional. We don't blame you for loving your car, it's a sweet ride. But if the facts hurt your ego, or your residual value on your Mach, don't go postal on us... I just get the feeling that the new '05 could be a 12-second car with Ferrari-beautiful styling and sell for $15 grand, and you'd still be so defensive about your Mach, and you'd still have nothing good to say about the '05. It sounds more like sour grapes than objective analysis. We've all said that we're happy that you're happy with your car. Of course you are, the 03-04 Mach 1's are GREAT cars!! So was the 1993 Cobra. But when 1994 rolled around, I didn't for a milli-second claim that the '93 Cobra was a better car than the '94 GT. It was faster, and that was it. At the time, I still preferred the '93 styling, but I got over that real quick. The '93 was worse in every respect except 1/4 mile timeslip. That's how it goes, progress marches on. Enjoy your Mach for what it is, and let's all get along. There's no grudge-match between the old and the new that I'm aware of. I don't mean to be a jerk (although I persist), just saying that the rose-colored glasses are obvious when you wear them.lets not force your opinion on someone else
