NO, LA
ok so I'm really getting sick of this!!! My car ran like a champ all winter, but now that the weather is getting hot everytime it get's above like 80 degrees outside it starts to hesitate and stutter when driving. When i start the car on a hot day it idles maybe 300rpm above normal for a long time and if i let it sit for 5 min or so then sometimes it's drivable, SOMETIMES! I run 93 octane gas, and cleaned the maf and even took out the k&n and put in a stock filter. But now, i notice i only have this problem when it gets hot! I have only had the car since last august, so maybe whoever had it set the timing way high and that's the problem??? Any suggestions please!!!

it's fking weird, the car ran like sht during the day, as soon as the sun went down and it got cool, it's running fine again, WTF is going on?? Am I running rich or something??? anyone else have this problem???

any codes?

did you happen to clean the IAT and ECT while doing the MAF? Those are real biggies on the SN Engine management (with its wonderful timing and fuel curves).

good luck with it.

the IAT the Intake Air temp sensor. it is a thermistor.
my 94 has a CAI (I dont know what the stock inlet looks like, as the CAI came with the car), but the IAT is just north of the MAF. it would be like the only thing plugged into the inlet tube, sans the MAF. on mine (i have a gauze air filter), the IAT was filthy. it just unscrews from the inlet. takes 1 min top to bottom to remove, clean and reinstall. FYI, if you read threads, the IAT = ACT (Air Charge Temp) sensor.

the ECT is the thermistor that tells the puter the engine temps. it is also used to control the fan on your SN. it can be out of calibration (it has different resistance values at various temps, just like the IAT). it is just above the thermostat housing, when lookin from the front of the motor. the elec connector points out toward the front of the car.

There are huge lists of things on the 94-95 sub forum - you might want to check those out or search just that sub forum. i am still acquainting myself with all the little issues that the T4 computers have that the A9 series doesnt.

good luck with it.
