I got a guy wanting me to help him put the whole brake setup from a 95 on his 90 coupe, and I was just looking for the brake booster upgrade thread, and I remember a nice 5 lug swap thread, but I couldn't find either.

I was just wondering if anyone had a link saved, or a write up about it. I think it should be added to the Tech Thread Index also

I'm going all out for the rest of my car. nothing but the best, latest, new stuff. But when it comes to brakes, the SN95 stuff seems to do the job. Makes me feel like I am cheaping out, but it seems that it works just as great as $2k kit. Tears me up inside... gah.

I am going with the 95 spindles and front and rear rotors, 99 calipers front and rear, and moser axles. Also using the 95 booster and MC... Just really confused about the proportioning valve.

He is probably going to order stock Fox length axles with 5 lugs?

There is nothing confusing about the Adj. Prop Valve. Get a 3-2 Kit from Maximum Motorsports, gut your stock prop valve and put the FMS Plug in it and you will be good to go.

The Adj. Prop Valve basically changes line pressure to the back brakes. It allows you to add or subtract some braking power in the back. You need it because you must gut the stock Prop Valve.

The stock prop valve has a screw in plug. You take that out along with the spring loaded hardware and then cap it with a plug. This essentially makes it part of the regular brake line system. You need to gut it to take it out of the system because it no longers functions correctly with the new disc brakes in the rear, it will not give the correct pressure.

It doesn't get much easier than the MM 3-2 kit.

I bought the FRRP plug and it didn't fit my stock proportioning valve. I had to take out the rubber piece on the stock PV cap and epoxy the hole closed. Worked like a charm!

I think there is a bad batch of plugs out there right now.

Why can't I just take the stock proportioning system out, and only run the aftermarket adj. valve?

You basiically are by gutting it and using the plug. By doing this, that block won't proportion anything anymore which is why you need to install an adjustable prop valve.

Removing the block will require a lot of unnecessary brake line plumbing
