Which flows more air between these two? Which would be a better choice for a Griffin 31 x 19? Which year in particular of each are recommended?

Thanks in advance-
Ted

The taurus ones are from the late 80's or early 90's 3.8 Taurus/ Taurus Wagon. You can tell the difference between the good Taurus fans and the crappy ones because the good ones have more blades, and they are S shaped.. I believe they have 10 or 11. The 3.0 taurus fans have regular shaped blades and have less of them.

I don't know the CFM rating of the sn95 fan, but I've heard a variety of ratings for the taurus, the highest one coming to mind being 3800cfm from some install article on ford muscle or MMFF.

I would imagine they are both pretty close, but I think the SN95 covers more area. The Mark VIII fan might be better for your application (it covers more area, and flows more CFM than the taurus,) and might be found cheaper than an sn95 could (ebay, junkyard, etc.)

Check the junkyard for Volvo 940 turbo fans as well - they're almost identical to the Taurus 3.8L fan.

See Monte Smith's home page for more info on the Mark VIII install. Houston Performance used to sell the fans new for 150 bucks. I dont know if they still do.

Good luck.

the mark viii fan works great. best bang for the buck. the only problem i had is it will NOT fit if you running a supercharger that is driven off a extended crank pulley. i ran into this problem. i am looking into a 1990 maxima fan which is a dual fan and only 3 inches deep, and comes with a pretty nice shroud.

Hey charged, which island you from? There seems to be a lot of other Hawaii transplants around here for some reason...

I was looking at those Maxima fans too. They look like they would work pretty well although I don't know how much air they flow.
