honestly... i dont have a answer for your problem...but if it happened to me... id just buy a new wire harness for cheap $$$ and see if that works... if it didnt, consider it preventive maintence....just my 2 cents bro...keep in mind bro your car is old..mines a 98 gt(over 20 years old) chances are the plastics/electric gave out... its a old car..

ill also add this to the conversation... my oil pan was leaking around the gasket...so paid a "mechanic" to do the job... because i didnt want t do it...im in Texas so its really hot here... so what this "mechanic" did was raised the transmission in order to get the oil pan out.. didnt work.. he ended up droping the K frame in order to get it out... but when he raised the trans... broke the connects to the radiator and other electrics... had to fix everything myself... point is... be carefull with older cars... the electrics are VERY FRAGILE....he broke some wires, but we fixed it.

The part in question goes to the ignition radio interference capacitor. It's purpose is to cut down on radio static caused by spark ignition. A missing radio interference capacitor will not prevent the motor from starting.

But here's what I think happened. The other side of the interference capacitor is directly attached to the motor's ignition VPWR source. I think the circuit has been shorted out to ground and the ignition fuse is blown. This can be confirmed by testing for key on +12 volts at the red power supply wire. Use a KNOWN good ground. If no voltage, the diagnosis is confirmed.

I'm also suspecting that once the ground fault has been repaired and the fuse replaced it will start and you can restart the trouble shooting.

Here's some more information that may be of help.
