Ok, i think i may have solved my headgasket problem. i am convinced that bad gas was my pinging problem.

I plan to put my gt40p heads back on with some mls gaskets, and use the stock cam.

I also want to add a boost controller for added insurance. They said that it raises 92 octane to 110 octane.

Has anyone used one? What is the best model for a turbocar?
How do you tune with them...meaning what settings should i use on the controller? How whell do they work?

i have one.....
i went with the stage 2 kit with which you can adjust the starting point of the meth then it increases the amount of meth injected until whatever point you say on the controller is full boost...

it definatly works, when it kicks in you can see the A/F ratio drop while your boost/rpms increase
take a look at my dyno graph..... at about 3200 rpms is where i introduced the meth as you can see....

You might think my a/f ratio looks a little funny/wavey well it does i was having issues with my MAF and the increments on the side of the graph are very small so you will notice any changes

but yeah it worked out well for me i guess....
any other questions just ask

i think you are talking about a boost cooler, not a boost controller, right?

i've had one of the snow kits for about 2 months now ... still not installed!

i'm getting closer tho; i finally ordered the egr delete plate from wazzee and i'm having a threaded hole machined in it. i'm using the egr opening in the elbow as the injection point ...

Worked great on my car when I ran it.
Dropped my A/F a entire point, I was then able to add timing for more power.

Also these kits wont help for nuthin if you dont add timing (a dyno is def needed for tuning)
If not you will actually loose power

yea what he said... works great when used right.

I was just gonna say that "eades" had one...that I saw your post.

You want the Stage 2 if youre making any decent power.

The cooling affect is only apart of methanol....it drops a/f, allows you to run more boost safely and allows for serious timing increase.
Theres guys on this board with simple blower combos running 30* total timing with 12-15psi on pump gas.

Methanol is mainly used for that reason where N20 is cooling.
Hope that clears some confusion up

Chris

Also
Methanol is a raw fuel you are spraying into your motor, you then add water to the mix and theres your perfect mixture of cooling/detoantion control.

PM M.Plummer for any details hes a brain with these kits and also a Snow dealer

Nahh, I think I'll get other issues sorted out to get the HP I want. I'm not running that large of a shot, I doubt detonation control is an issue for me anyway. I'm just confused on how it would be effective with Nitrous as a power adder for detonation control. Most of the effect of it with boost is the fact that air gets heated by compressing it, the Meth injection allows you to safely introduce a cooling mist into the airstream to cool the air and run more boost safely without detonation. Nitrous doesn't heat the incoming air, it actually chills it to a point, therefore it "intercools" itself. Hence the fact that you can run Nitrous on a high compression motor more readily than you can boost...

Sounds like you know everything....enjoy your N20, cause methanol def doesnt do anything according to you.
Its very simple, really not hard to understand at all.

N20 works well to, never knocked it.

With nitrous I simply don't understand how it would do anything. I'd really appreciate if someone could explain how it does. I didn't say it does nothing. I think it's an excellent setup for a car with Forced Induction (Supercharger or Turbo) but I'm not catching on to how it could work with nitrous..
