Well I just did my install. After we figured out a few things it was realy easy but the instuctions suck any way I did not add alot of timeing yet only 2 degrees so far just to be safe. I am going to the dyno today in Lubbock at Texas Speed and Performance so I will let you guys know the out come tomorrow.

Are you going to run more boost? It is my understanding that you gain the extra power from being able to increase boost and timing without detonation.I am interested in seeing your results as the shop I have work on my car suggested the same kit to me.

The kit always you to run more timing which allows you to run more boost.

ok well the results are in. well i still have to do some more tunning but i know were i am at now. 347.4RWHP and 370.3RWTQ so i have gained 40RWHP and 40RWTQ so far i am very impressed i do need to fix my A/F though it was 10.8 so if i fix that i may see a few more HP.

Not bad... You could probably squeeze more out of it, but remember *stock internals*

yeah i now i originaly did not want to do anything to the car you know keep it stock yeah right any way i would like to get 400 out of it so we will see may be i will start to get better internals. i do know i need to fix my A/F since it is 10.8 so i am running a little rich. my water/mythenal mixer lasted about 220 miles.

Methanol is quite corrosive to alum. You might want to investigate into some Iso-prop (rubbing alc.) as an alternative. You could probably get to 400 but you're gonna have to drop prayers at every stop light you lunch the car from.

yeah i know well so far i think $400 dollars was worth the 40hp and 40tq and i should be able to squeez more once i fix the A/F. and i will look into the iso-prop

Hi there,
First off, those are awesome results for such a small timing increase...congrats.

Now to deal with this methanol is corrosive issue. At 100% methaol is VERY corrosive but at levels of 70% or below the mixture is NOT corrosive at all. I highly recommend that methanol be mixed with distilled water (less deposits). Boost Jice is approx. a 50/50 mix of distilled water and methanol and its regulated and its not corrosive at all.

When inject your 50/50 mixture of water and methanol its not sitting around long enough in the intake or intake tract to do anything. Plus with the fine atomization with the Snow kits it isn't an issue.

Now you can run Iso-propyl but the octane rating will be alot lower(110 vs 104) than if you use methanol. Plus the energy content of Iso-propyl is not as much as methanol and your cooling ability of Iso-propyl is also not as good as methanol so for me to use iso-propyl it doesn't make sense when methanol is the best source for both.

See ya

yeah i plan on adding timing i am at a total of 21 right now and my fuel is real rich 10.8 so once i get a new tune to correct my fuel i my add some more timing also.
what would you suggest as how much total timing

i mounted it before the TB on the bottom of the tube i do not have any pic we hid every thing so it still looks stock exept the MAF we put on the fuse box cover, the pump we pulled the front bumper off and mounted it on the bumper suport beam, and then i am using my wind shield washer resivor for the water/mythenal.

Hi there,
I'm not sure how you tuned your combo but its best to tune your combo to an A/F ratio of 12:1-12.5:1 (I prefer 12.5:1) without the water/methanol. Then you can add the water/methanol and your A/F ratio should get richer by approx. 1 point meaning your A/F raio would now be 11:1 or 11.5:1. Now you can start adding more timing or boost (I would add more total timing) and you'll see an increase in HP. I like to add my timing increases in 2-3 degrees based on the setup.

How much total timing is ALWAYS up to the user/owner of the car. Have you tried to contact the place you bought the kit from for advice on how much total timing?

See ya

Hi Josh,
Fill me in on some details please.

1) Are you running the EEC-V processor with the Saleen tune?

2) How much boost are you making?

3) Don't remove any fuel to get your A/F ratio down. I'd rather see you increase the boost from the blower or add more total timing.

4) Do you have any means of measuring EGTs?

I've seen cars like yours go as high as 26-28 degrees of total timing but I'd rather see you try 24-25 and get back to me with the results.

I hope this helps
