Snow Tires?

yeah im thinking of Bridgestone Blizzacks myself...but i hear if there isn't snow on the ground they have HORRIBLE traction. like they are bad in slushy/rain weather. Not that you should drive like an a-hole in winter time anyway, but im just saying  thats what I hear about them

nah they have been awesome in rain and slush, had plenty of that so far.

Dry traction, well they don't feel good going around corners, but they actually hold really good... its just they are so soft it scares you the first few times you take a fast corner in the dry stuff.

Dunlop M3 all the freekin way. I am running those now and had them all last winter. Great in snow and as good as your going to get on ice. They will allow you to maintian at least some of your cornering ability, I think mine are the 95w.

i feel sorry for all of those who have to venture out in to the snow with our car....

I say get good set od snow tire(rear AND front), couple of fat hoes for traction.
Brizzack is $152ea(tirerack). so for 4 of them = $608+mount/balance+food for fat hoes = Too much

Or

Instead, i bought 89 Toyota Tercel for $350. replaced flex pipe for $120 bucks, new rotors for front was $9.99ea. cost me extra $16/month for insurance, and saved money on gas, and milege on my car. and beat the living piss out of it for 2 years. Kept my car from rackin up miles, and kept it away from salty road, and rain.
So my expense $350+$120+$20=$490

so i say get a beater

I got Blizzaks for winter 3 winters ago, just got rid of them this year, only because I drove them all year last year. They were completely bald, but I surprisingly didnt have too much trouble in the snow. Definitely getting them again this year. I think the more important factor of driving in the snow is just to take it slowly.
