I bought a "chip" which is basically just a wire with a resistor on it. It cost $7 and it plugs directly into my MAF. It is suppose to trick the computer into thinking that it is cold outside so it dumps more fuel into the chamber! Well, it worked... for about a week! All of a sudden my Stang just started to buck, kick, spit... pretty much anything that a horse can do other than bite! It was also missing on Cylinder #6. so i changed the plugs and the miss magically disappears, but the only problem which still remains is that while cruising at the same speed for a good amount of time... the stang will throw one huge hiccup and I will have no throttle! i can floor it and just nothing! so i turn the car off while cruising still and restart it and im good to go... until it happens again!
i think i have narrowed down the bucking down to two possibilities! I had a local shop do some diagnostics on it and they said that they cannot say it is the fuel pump for sure, but the frequency is not consistently at what it is suppose to be! so...either the fuel pump is kicking off or i need to get a custom tune because my computer is now wack from the "chip" that i wasted my $$$ on! either way i look at it i am gonna have to spend about $00-450 for either or! what do you guys/gals think!?
