the problem with the volvo IC is the plastic end tanks. Those are what blow out, and somewhat contribute to limited airflow. The extreme temps from high boost slowly deforms the plastic until it eventually blows out, and starts leaking. I wouldn't dare to try 30psi on a stock volvo IC. Get something with metal endtanks if you want to play with that kind of boost.

I will have to look into replacing the endtanks with some aluminum ones.
might not happen though, because almost no one can weld aluminum here. if they can, they are costly!!
The engine shop I use can do it, but everything they do is pretty darn expensive. a complete 4 cylinder motor rebuild (out of car) is more than a $1,000. I have had them done for 300 twice in the states!
Ohh yah, are volvo oil filters the same as ford?I got the oil cooler and adapter from it to.

I've ran as much as 24psi (at the motor) on mine which was probably 25-26psi in the IC. It's held up fine so far.
