Think I could get this to work on the 70?

$950 hardly covers parts costs I take? Very nice though! You'd need to fabricate piping from the intercooler to your EFI intake (Holley TBI?) and probably also to relocate intercooler.

From what I understood. I didn't think you HAD to have an intercooler.

No offense but DK832 was much cuter as a baby than you BottleFed

That is a good price for a TWIN Turbo/Intercooled kit. Someone buy it and put it on their classic and let us all know how much money/fab work it takes to finish it. Then let us know how it performs. Someone needs to try to catch Paul302 in his 10 flat ride!!
I would do it but I am busy now.

worth it

I have been playfully looking into a turbo setup...

This looks to be worth it for the parts.

i would assume it would still require a fair amount of fab work to fit in anything other than a fox body.

If you start fabing you loose the pretty looks...

So... having said that you could likely piece together a setup for less minus the pipes, which most would need to be re-formed.

I still think it might be a reasonable start. there are several forums out there dedicated to turbo stangs and a lot feature jyt (Junk Yard Turbos) and diy turbos.

I am still N/A so none of the piping would work for me.

No you do not need intercoolers...but it makes a real difference. If you are going to put blood sweat and tears might as well squeeze all you can out of it.

The hot and cold side piping I'm not too worried about, I'm more concerned with the header fitment. Was thinking I could get a template of the piping I need and then get an exhaust shop to bend it up for me.

fox body headers definitely wouldn't fit an early model, especially with a 351w, if you had a 302 you might be able to squeeze them in but a big no-go with the windsor

ssautochrome is junk and sells junk. if you want a ****ty hotside that will crack, a chinese made turbo that has split in half already, or crappy customer service when your trying to get this stuff fixed then go ahead and place your bids.

i dont understand why people still dont know that 99% of the time you get what you pay for.

if you want a turbo kit then i would build your own (thats what im doing) or have 10 sec goal build you one.

you have been warned. go to turbomustangs.com and search around for proof.

4-5 years ago, definetly. Now its few inbetween that get the crappy models. SSAutochrome is world-reknown for some junk parts but in the last year or so things have gotten A LOT better. I don't know where in china they made some stuff but the quality has gotten a lot higher. The only thing I have messed with them for is on honda stuff, but again they aren't *always* pieces of junk like everyone says there are. I guess their company finally read enough performace forums to get it.

One of the guys I go to the track with has a turbo t3/t4 on a d16z6 motor, nothing has broken or cracked and its been a year and half making 180 whp.

Seriously. "SSAUTOCHROME" was the first thing I saw on the Ebay page and that was as far as I went.

Ever onder why Garrett-equipped turbo systems cost 3X or more what the SSAutoCrap does? The parts aren't garbage. It is incredibly rare to find a defective Garrett, KKK, IHI, Hitachi, MHI, Roto-Master, RayJay, Master Power, Turbonetics, Innovative, or Precision unit. None of those have ever been glued together.

I don't want to make it seem as I'm trying to sell... But I don't see how it's possible that they are making much at all, even if it is junk.321 stainless is about 3 times the price of 304 stainless. And 304 is about 25% more than mild steel. So they are probably made overseas, and still not making much, or it isn't 321.
Sorry bottle fed, I don't think those headers would even a 302 in our years. It bulges pretty bad in the "problem area" on our car for turbo headers.

Their stuff IS made overseas. The headers are paper thin and have a horrible reputation for cracking. As to whether or not it's actually 321, that's debatable.

No argueing that. I was just surprised to see a kit offered even that cheap.

This is one of those things that's a LOT of work to install, not something you want to cheap out on.

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing. They'll hit the shock towers for sure.

So out of curiosity, what would it cost (rough estimate is fine) to have you build a kit for me? All I'd want is the turbo(s), BOV, and exhaust headers/piping.

I plan to switch to pusher electric fans and to relocate the battery to the trunk. Car doesn't have AC, but would like to keep the power steering and alternator.

The bottom end on my 351W is pretty much stock and with a 9.5:1 compression ratio, I'll be keeping the boost to ~6PSI for now, but would like to crank up the boost at a later date/time when the engine is built properly. Short term goal would be 350whp, long term 500whp.

PM me if you'd prefer. Thanks.

The reason its so cheap, those turbos are crap. I have seen personally 3-4 cracked housings on them. They are made from the cheapest parts and by the lowest bidder. There are multiple threads about them on turbomustangs. Also, with the headers, you gotta watch. Stainless not welded properly can crack easily due to the heat. Thin stainless is no good when it comes to turbo headers. Everything about it is just not quality and thats why the price is so low. I figre that $1000 might make it a couple weeks then you need to start replacing cracked stuff
