Yea thats the restriction in the intake(the lower). He fixes that problem. If it required a different upper, it would be cheaper to just upgrade the intake.
I believe that the stock upper flows in the 190-195 cfm range roughly from what I`ve read in the past,and a properly ported stock lower will flow approx 190-200cfm,(more if you really go nuts on the porting), depending on the runners flowed,runners 1 and 5 being the lowest.So it`s a good match.
My standard lower porting has been flow tested on an SF600 bench at 195cfm average without a clay radius on the inlet, so it's about a perfect match to the stock upper.
