I've built several cars in my time, but i've never needed to deal with extensive body shop work on any of my own cars. So all the work i've had done has been below about $2k. Because of this, I've always paid up front, nothing special, nothing new.

I now have a project car that i'm working on. It only needs a grand worth of work to make it look decent, but I want to make this thing really pop. So I'm estimating $5k-7k worth of work.

MY QUESTION IS: Do you guys know of ANY body shops in CA that do financing offers in lieu of straight payments? I'm not dumb, I doubt they exist, but if i don't ask I'm not trying.

Thanks for any input! :flag:

My shop is in San Diego and the other shops we have delt with for paint haven't done anything but deposits then weekly invoices before getting any further along with paint and body. Only option would be to get a credit card.

No body likes to hear this, but the cheapest way is to save up and buy when you have the money. Yes, you have to wait, but you aren't paying even more either. If you get a second job while you wait, you will be waiting a lot less time. ;)

body shops are the worst to deal with.If you try to make payments, they will never work on your car.I got screwed by paying half up front and the guy blew it on another job so i ended up paying more just to pick it up uncompleted
Yep. That's why we can only recommend one shop. For that reason. But they charge by the week, and only at the end, once the work is done. But they do cost a good amount.
