I am looking for any information about shows sponsered by SOEC located in the Southeast or even the East coast. The Annual show in CA in September will be a great show, but I live 3000 miles away.

Soec

You would be way better off finding another club! Try Saleen Club of America
or something!!! SaleenPower.Com has lots of active members, and a few smart asses to boot! ( keeps it interesting)
:SNSign: is one of the best places to be!!
SOEC is deader than a door nail!!!! Slugs move faster than that site does!
They have been saying they are going to improve for the last several years, haven't seen it happen yet!!!!
The last time that I posted on there it only took a month for someone to reply,to me thats not what a club is supposed to be like.
I like to talk about my car but most of the people on that site seem like they would rather keep to them selves! Sorry if any of you guys are members there, don't mean to ruffle any feathers!!! Just my 2 cents worth!!

I believe the East Coast SOEC event is canceled. Look for one in 2007.

You will find SOEC support at various gatherings this and any given summer. Like Carlisle All-Ford Nationals and Mustang Club of America national events.

So... two / three months now equals several years? Time must drag in Washington. Must be the weather or the Seahawks. Bummer on both. :(

The first round of the new site is done. We are just testing the forum software and waiting for the vehicle locating service to come online. Not one unfulfilled pledge in the bunch.

I quess I ruffled your feathers again!!! Wah Wah Wah!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If you really kept an eye on your site, you would wake up and see that your site is lucky if you get 3 or 4 posts a day! It's pretty sad that you think your site is so hot and improved. When even your own members hardly post on thier own site!!!!!!!!!!!!
All I ever asked on your site was why was it so dead? and why nobody ever posted any pictures on it and if there were any members from washington!
And when I don't get a single response to either one of my posts for a month,
then I mention it on your site, you guys have a hissy fit about it! Thats not the type of Saleen enthusiasm that I want from a club supposedly dedicated
to the car and it's owners! Maybe you should rethink what you are supposed to represent!!!

PS: I'll take Washington, the Rain, and the Seahawks anyday over anything you have! And yes we love how time drags on by here!!!!:nice:

Have a nice day!! And Go whine on your own site!!!!:notnice:

Sweet. An interent pissing contest.

I knew of your past posts on our current forum… and I'm also aware how you would then post at another forum saying how you hoped your commentary would “ruffle feathers” or be deleted.

Innuendo agendas and propaganda. :nono:

Is the current website out of date? Yep. Is anyone arguing otherwise? Nope.

So yes Bill, you have not even seen the new site or material, but yet you still feel it blows. Pretty sweet.

Don’t worry Bill, I still love you.

Find what you like and do it. Wana’ post at saleenpower.com, go for it. Thinking about joining the SCOA, go for it.

People want to create drama and it’s easy to do so behind a computer monitor; which sums up this entire thread.

hey whats up brother Bill! i was going to join the SOEC but have seen next to no activity on that site for for along time & you have to pay to be a member??
if i were SOEC, i would rethink things & drop the membership charge for starters. you might just get some more members & reveive your site! if there were no membership fee, i would be there, just like i am at most of the Saleen sites & they dont charge a fee!

Hey, Jay...

Just wanted to clarify that there is no charge to register for the SOEC website forums, either at the current www.saleenclub.net or at the new domain (online soon) www.soec.org.

Saleen Daddy,

While SOEC does hold the annual SOEC Driving Event and the Saleen Show in Irvine, the organization is indeed active throughout the country in that members participate in a variety of activities, including MCA National events. SOEC has been intricately involved in judging rules at MCA events, so we try to have a strong presence at those shows.

For a schedule of future events, please the Events forum on our website, including this thread:

http://www.saleenclub.net/forum/viewtopic.php?p=947#947

We also are making plans to hold an annual weekend event in North Carolina starting in the summer of 2007. Preliminary plans include an autocross event and a show which would have Saleen support -- we really look forward to this coming together, and it's looking very optimistic.

As davidj pointed out, we are working hard to rejuvenate the website as well as the member newsletter, so look for some great things soon.

Thanks for your interest,

Jim
P.S. We get a lot of members who fly from across the country for the annual Saleen Show and Open House, so you might consider coming out for that. We also get a lot of people at the Fabulous Fords Forever at Knott's show weekend, for the special SOEC events held each April.

Without naming names or particulars, let's just say that my personal experience with some of the prior & current principals associated with the SOEC as well as the MCA were not exactly positive.

A lot of my misgivings & disillusionment with both clubs stem from the 30th anniversary show in Charlotte & the Grand National show in Mustang, OK.

Due to those experiences, I swore never again to be involved in either organization.

SOEC

davidj and JimD,

Don't get yourselves in a tizzy now!!!!
You guy's are posting way more here on :SNSign: Than you do on SOEC,you should listen to what other people have to say about SOEC than just myself,

Gee I wonder why. So don't come on Stanget and get yourselves all latherd up!!!:rlaugh: :rlaugh: Go back to SOEC:nonono: and try to make something of it if there is anything left to salvage!!!! All anyone ever asked for was a site with some action!!!!

Jay my friend thanks for the input!!!! Hopefully their new and much improved version will be better, It can't be any worse, thats for sure!!!!
And SVT Saleen! thanks also!!!!

.......not having any current affilication with any mustang club (or saleen club for that matter) at this time, I have a non-biases take on the situation. Lets face it, the past five years haven't exactly been the glory days for the SOEC. A quick look at the webpage give us that indication (last updated 4/04???) If this wasn't the case, the SCOA would not exist. The only reason SCOA was created was due to poor leadership and (not to be rude) arrogance of the board of directors for the SOEC. Things only got done when XYZ wanted them to get done and the opinions of the members meant nothing. The webboard became a disolete waste land and the newsletters simply stopped coming. There was no value in being a member and paying dues to get you nothing doesn't sound appealing to many. Hence why so many members decided to create another Saleen club where EVERYONES opinion mattered. Where a publication had 30 or 40 people contributing to the content as opposed to a few. Where the final draft proofs were decided by many as opposed to one or two...

I'll admit that I was one of those that started the SCOA and I was the SWR director. We had events EVERY month...period. Sometimes small cruises or early morning show and shines. It didn't matter what the event was but we still got together and had a great time. The club magazine published was far superior then that of ANY SOEC publication that I've ever seen. If you haven't seen one, I have plenty of copies to show. 40 pages of color every quarter as opposed to a black and white 8 page brochure. The webboard has a toon of the month, saleen of the month and an image gallery of every past event...................But the same politcal BS arose in the SCOA that was and is still present in SOEC. Magazine is almost a year behind, the toon of the month not published since Dec of 05, Saleen of the month hasn't changed for three months, etc, etc, etc. Now, the majority of us are right back where we started almost two years later. We now have two different clubs with the same problems trying to accomplish the same task.........

I'm glad the board members for the SOEC have decided to "renovate" the site and club. But is it going to be the same "promise" that Saleen has been giving us the past few years about the parts department?? I would love to see just one Saleen club ( I could care less what the initials or club name is) successed. I would love to see ideas that all Saleen owners have for a club be implimented and the opinion of everyone heard before a decision is made. Have every region accounted for and someone in each area makes outings and events happen monthly. The SOEC is notorious for being "on the east coast". The presents every now and then at a big show on the west coast is simply not enough. Listen to what people are saying, impliment there thoughts and you'll be surprised what the end results will bring........

I'm sure I stepped on some peoples toes, so if you feel the need to :flame: me by all means. Just remember that we are all here for the same reason: to promote the Saleen heritage, race history and pass along all our knowledge of these awsome cars to the next generation of automobile enthusiasts......

Okay, I know I am WAY late into this thread, but just wanted to say a few things - maybe somebody is still listening.

The SCOA is not gone by the way side, it's struggling a little trying to start as a "National Club" right out of the box is no easy challenge. And without any support from the manufacture that you are trying to represent is another issue all by itself.

The SCOA format is the way it should be done - the BIG Problem is many Saleen owners & enthusiasts set at their computers and throw words around, but little in the way of support. Not everyone, some have stepped up volunteered to take jobs, hold events and otherwise promote the club and it's activities like it was intended.

But, a BIG BUT, at that is the vast majority, you couldn't drag them outside for nothing, unless maybe Steve himself was at an event doing an autograph session or something. How many time do you have his signature on your car, book, hat or t-shirt?

Listen, last weekend, we had 24 Saleens, mostly SCOA members, at 3 day event in Indiana - is that the only place Saleens are out? And on August 12-15 we are having the Midwest Regionals in Jeffersonville In, there will be 25-30 Saleens, now these will be without Steve Saleen present, just the owners and enthusiasts enjoying their cars organized by the SCOA.

To make something work YOU HAVE TO PARTICIPATE. The CLUBS can only offer so much, if you want to sit around at work and type in a Forum - nothing will ever get off the ground, the little 'SMILES" :rlaugh: everyone likes to use continue to be expanded and [more] offered, but that doesn't make much of a club.

That's way more than I wanted to say - but to tell you the truth, Club Bashing isn't my favorite thing and if you ever took an active part - you would surely agree.

To you who are members, have organized and worked in a club THANK YOU!
