haha, I'm not a total idiot.

So uummm is the SOHC really not that bad? I mean, mod for mod the DOHC should always be faster, right?

Its easy, I did a DOHC conversion on my GT. Call up your closest pep boys and ask for Piston Return Springs and also for Titanium Camshaft Pulleys for a 99+ Mustang GT. Also pickup some synthetic cam shaft fluid so you can handle the new strain. It'll cost around $150 total but its totally worth it. The camshaft pulleys turn the cam extra fast so it still operates as effeciently as the DOHC design. The piston return springs will keep the pistons in sync. The cam fluid will handle the new heat. I dynoed 310 rwhp with this setup, damn fast. You may also need to polish your intake down so that it can help with more airflow. I bought a bag of sand from home depot, removed the air intake filter and attached the bag of sand, then ran the car for 15 or 20 minutes. The sandblasting smoothed out the intake very well!

How do you like your cam pulleys and piston return springs guys? Getting the same results?

The 4.6 SOHC in my opinion is is a very good motor, it's very efficient and makes good power to displacement. The DOHC is one of the very best IMO. DOHC engines flow more air, can rev higher and still make power, and can beat larger engines.

True BUT a SOHC can rev just as high as a DOHC with the same mods.
Make more power yes ,but the SOHC will always make more torque esp down low.

jas142--dude reading your post just dropped the iq of everyone in here.If you dont have anything useful to post then dont post.

Its a joke, calm down guys Just tryin to lighten it up a little.

Seriously though the 2v (SOHC) motor is fine. The 99+ have PI heads and are quick stock and nice and torquey. The 4v has more potential, yes. It all depends what you're looking for. If you're looking for a car thats quick (13s is very easy with cheap bolt on mods) and can own all the ricers, then the GT is fine.

hehe, well, I'm 17 (18 soon) but I don't think I need the power of a Mach 1.

How fast does the GT "run out of steam"??????
