I just sold my ls1 370rwhp ws6 and I am thinking of getting a 97 Cobra. The engine went out on me, leaked too much gas and threw something. So I fixed it and got rid of it...it was costing me too much money with gas, payment, and repairs. Also, it's an auto which means I was worrying about the transmission going and the rear end since chevy decides to put those weak ass pos's! So lately I've been trying to figure out what I want next...I was think like a camry or something else more reliable and more streetable. A cammed car with a stall isn't exactly a daily driver. But I can't see myself in a car like that...I need something with a little bit of speed and better gas mileage than 10 miles to the gallon. So I came across a 97 Cobra vert with about 70,000 miles for $9,000 and I'm thinking of getting it. I did the math and I'll be paying half the amount on both my payments and gas if I get it which will help out a lot. I just had a few questions about the Cobras since I don't know much about them at all. I had a 98 GT 5 years ago and loved it...just wasn't fast enough for me. I was just curious what the stock horsepower and torque TO THE WHEELS are on a Cobra engine? Also, how strong are they compared to the GT's and is there anything special about them besides producing more power, basically is it going to break easily on me?
