Found a friend with a 97 Cobra who wants to do a IRS and soild axle swap. I know that the 96-98 rear ends is slighty shorter. Is there any problems that might come in result of this. Has any 99-04 Cobras done a swap with a 96-98 rear end. Also how will it look with it on considering its shorter

Didnt know they were shorter. I didnt think the mustang platform changerd that much in those years. If you got a custom offset for your wheels would that help you get fatter slicks in rear?

You'll definately have to run a wider wheel or a different offset/backspace in the back to make it look right if you go with a 94-98 rearend since they are an 1" shorter on each side...

What about just using 1" wheels spacers? It seems to me that one on each side would do the trick.
