Well yesterday I brought my car over to my buddies school to work on the old stang. I fixed the one problem with the car not wanting to start when i was driving for a long time. The starter was like right on the long tube damn near so I put some thermal wrap on it so it keeps some heat out of there. I need a Hi Torque Mini starter but how that long tube goes it looks like i have to take that Header off and thats not something I want to do anytime soon.
I have to check my rear end fluid now as well since you can hear a slight noise when im driving like its low. Do you guys think i should just change the fluid in the rear end?
My check engine light still comes on from saying its a bad computer. I think im going to just buy one at a junk yard or something to see if that fixs it. Although id like to get something like the F.a.s.t system or AEM but thats more a winter thing.

Also This winter im installing all my gauges and what not. I have my boost, oil press, water temp. Is there any other one you think I should get? I wanted volt cuz I dont like that stock one. But I was also thinking Trans Temp Since its a built trans and i have that stall. What you guy think

Glad to hear you're working out the bugs. I've heard of many guys' starters getting heat soaked form their LT's. Insulating one or the other always seemed to cure the problem.

About the gear fluid, have you ever swapped out the stock gears for something else? If yes, when was it? Did somebody else do it, or did you? Because of course you have to replace the fluid when doing gears, and if it was just recently, you shouldn't be leaking bad enough to already have to refill it. I'd look at your crush sleeve to see if it's seeping out there. Or better yet, if somebody else did them, have THEM fix it, lol.

You pulled the codes? What code did it give you? I would think a bad computer would cause all kinds of funky issues. Make sure that it's actually bad before replacing it, lol.

When you install your blower, you might wanna look into a wideband O2 sensor. Then you can install an A/F ratio gauge and it will actually be useful. Another must have (IMHO) on a blown application, is a fuel pressure gauge. However, to safely mount one inside the car, it'll cost $200 or better because you have to purchase an isolator. Otherwise, you can get a cowl mount one for about $40, and the bracket for another $10 or so.

That's all I can think of for now, good luck bud!

When We pulled the Code it was a 511 i think its been a lil while since it was pulled and when we looked itu p it said that it was the computer. So I have no idea the car really doesnt act bad at all though. We will see. The gear yes it has a 4.10 But When i bought the car it had the gear already so I had nothing to do with that. Just where that bolt is at is a funky location Maybe ill just take it somewhere and have them change the fluid just to be safe this way i dont have to do anything with it lol.
But thanks for your input on the a/f and fuel press Ill have to think about what i want to do

Nice post by Chris!

Swapping rear end fluid is an easy task if you want to do it yourself.

A trans temp gauge is a great idea, esp with the heat from the converter.

Good luck.
