I have a few questions.

1.) I am looking at getting headers I have a 2 1/2 inch H-pipe, is there anyway I can get 3 inch long tube headers to fit my H-pipe?

2.) How much of a horsepower difference would long tubes give me over shorties?

3.) Has anyone had any experience with Hooker headers? Are they good?

4.) Is there a power difference between 3 inch Hooker headers and 1 5/8 inch Mac long tubes?

5.) were does a speed calibrator go when I install it? Dumb question I know

Thanks

Typically, headers have a reducer to mate up to 2.5" exhaust. But understand that you'll have to get a different midpipe made for long tube headers - it'd be a shorter length midpipe to mate up with the longer tubes of the headers.

Expect 5 - 20, totally depending on your other mods.

Hooker headers are very well known and respected. Another good, popular choice is BBK.

Probably not much (the QUALITY however is likely different). But these measurements are not the same. The 1 5/8 are the diameter of the primary tubes. Know that bigger is not always better.

I believe the speed cali on a 96 is a speedo gear.
There is no such thing as a dumb question...unless you don't ask it! With the anonminity of the Internet, you'll get some who like to poke fun at those who may ask basic questions, but most are out here to help. Also be sure to use the search function - it works well.

No don't use a speedo gear on a car with a gear change, use a Dallas Mustang Speedcal. The DM website has install directions for it too that are pretty straightforward.
