Hey guys, buildin my first engine for my mustang, a 351c. I got the whole short block together when I figured out i had to tap the front oil galley plugs and im worried about the metal shavings that might have fallen inside. I got most of them cleaned out ( i think??) and had to pull the cam to clean off the ones stuck to it, so im pretty shure they are all out except the left plug has a line right under it so possibly some fell into there? SO the big question is do i pull it all apart and clean it to make shure?? a man balling like a baby wouldnt be pretty if he found metal shavings in his newly destroyed engine! for my second question if i have to pull it apart (cringe) is it worth it to have the block decked and cc the heads, right side .030" deck all across and left side goes from .029-.034". Its a daily driver which I will race, and hopefully show up that goofy sti this kids mommy bought him!
Thanks guys

As much as I know you don't want to hear this, I'll say it anyway;;;;; Take it apart. Period. Clean the oil galleries. And never ever do any drilling or tapping in an assembled engine. Outside is OK.

DEFINITELY tear it down and clean it. It doesnt take much in parts or labor compared to getting that crap in the engine and seizing something up.

Good measurements on the block. Nice and square. Maybe while its apart, get it zero decked! Bump the compression a bit and cut that quench height down.
