Hi, im john and I live in hawaii. I have a 68 Fastback I got a year ago for my birthday.
I intended for the car to be a weekend car, but, after seeing the car in my yard with very minimal work done to the car, only work was taking off the front fenders and cleaning the aprons. Now, Im looking to get the car on the road. Heres what I want to do:
The car ran prior to the sale, but the interior is trashed. The body is very good, and ther is maybe 2 rust spots on the roof, and nothing else. It has a 302 with a C4 automatic, the engine has 190,000 miles and has never been rebuilt. It only has some very minor smoking. So....
I want to redo the whole interior. New seat covers, carpet, door panels, paint the rear interior panels, New dash appearance, and a trans swap. I have a 460 that I am rebuilding, it will retain the stock bottom end, and heads, but everything else is high performance. After I get it done, I want to swap it witht he 302, and still use the car for everyday driving. I also have a 4 speed toploader laying around.
I want this car on the road. I need to change the front brakes, because the whole damn car is drums, im chaging it to front discs.
