I've been looking around, checking this and that. But It seems whenever I pick out something I cannot use it because its overpowered.

Anyways, I have a stock ( except H pipe and headers ) 302, 88 gt.

The only thing I've picked out is 3.73 gears

I'd like some ideas on a budget build for street. Not looking to run 11's. Just beat local cars and have some fun. It is also a daily driver.

So blast away

No need to be an ass, I tried searching and found relevant. I just want a guide on what order to upgrade, from which to get before that..

No it isn't, I was wanting to convert it but really had no clue at which kit to buy, but I also read its best to get a new throttle body and fuel injectors too.

How about this?

1: MAF conversion
2: SR Performance 70mm Throttle body/With SRP 70mm EGR Spacer
3: BBK Cold Air Intake
4: Ford Racing 3.73 Gears
5: New heads
6: New Intake

I think a lot of people here disagree, but I've always had the opinion that if heads and intake are coming off, may as well get a cam too. Kinda pointless not to, imho.

Agreed. As stated, conversion to mass is a must if u plan on doing any more than exhaust work.. do that, then grab a new timing set, and a trick flow hci kit .

at this point I would say bust out the credit card and order the TFS kit from summit. EVerything you need to pound out 300+hp in one neat box.

Dude, go buy a bbk air intake or at least a stock air tube/box with a k&n. That is the weeniest looking filter setup ever.. and yea, its probably robbing power

Any will do. But almost none are actually cold air... If the filter grabs air under hood, its the opposite. Find a junkyard stock intake tube and box and by the k&n panel filter
