Any will do. But almost none are actually cold air... If the filter grabs air under hood, its the opposite. Find a junkyard stock intake tube and box and by the k&n panel filter

Ill just order the BBK CAI with the Speed Density CAI Adapter. Because right now i'm not sure what MAF I should get.

Thanks for the info though, if all else fails ill hit up the junkyard

Anything is better than that. Undersized and sucking road grime and hot air off the headers. In all honesty the stock set up is great and you can probably score one for about 20 bucks.

**edit**
not trying to sound like an ass. after re-reading it kind of looks that way. just trying to help a fellow enthusiast out. here is a link to a thread in the tech section on how to make a home made power pipe.
http://www.stangnet.com/mustang-forums/770054-check-out-my-homemade-power-pipe.html
It will work with or without a MAF and you can add a MAF later if you like and the price is well under any CAI kit you can buy and will flow enough to support your needs well into the 500rwhp and above.

Personally i have no problem buying parts that are overkill for my current combo, because i have a future goal of continuing to buy parts that match up and in the long run i'll have the right combo. I've done this ever since i got my car and it's worked out great so far.

I'm pretty sure that filter was intended for a lawn mower... A push lawn mower.

Get a real intake system on that and a 97mm Abaco meter from http://andersonfordmotorsport.com/

Ok thanks for the inputs everyone, so just to get this clear.

for the maf conversion do i just need to buy say, C&L 76mm ( or 73mm? ) Air meter/sensor housing? The stock injectors are 19lb correct?

You'll need a MAF computer appropriate for your car (auto or stick), a mass air conversion harness, the MAF meter itself, and possibly a meter bracket, depending on how you set up your air intake. You will also likely need to get a hold of some EEC IV wire harness pins, because you may have to wire in the VSS.

Read this:

http://www.stangnet.com/2002/01/23/mustang-mass-air-conversion/

I seriously recommend an Abaco meter over anything else. Huge airflow potential, and it COMES with software that allows you to tune it for whatever injectors you want to use, as well as tweak the A/F ratio any way you want it. So, no sending it back in to get recalibrated, or buying those junk inserts that the C&L meters use.

Also, here is your conversion harness:
