Depends on your goals.Ive had both.I love having shorties again..Ease of working on the car, more mid pipe choices, and no ground clearence issues.

LTs and o/r xpipe. shorties arent worth the money or the time to install for such a small gain.

If you are going to the expense and trouble of installing headers you should just do long tubes. It will easily cost $1000+ for parts and installation.

Well you can pick up LTs for 350 dollars and get a X pipe because its 11hp more then the Hsome buddies and a jack you can put the LTs in yourself. Take a weekend get some pizza, coke, some girls, and your 10 other buddies to watch you do the work, that is what i did. 10 people watching 1 person working on the car.

Don't waste your money on shortys

Installing long tubes is extremely difficult, do not be deceived by skilled mechanics telling you it is "easy"...
