You guys aren't reading between the lines here. He ran those times with his "old" set up. He has yet to track test his new one.

I got a twelve second car 12 are quick, sure...but honestly not that hard to get anymore! Lots of stock (be them expensive) cars run 12's, and tons of cars can be made to run 12's for cheeeeap.

It is hilarious when you here little ricers (domestic and import kids) talk about their 12 second this - and its even more funny when they say EXACTLY what it'll run like "should be good for 12.80's at 105 YAH!"

Before I broke into the 13's I said I have a 13 second GT, but the best ET I have gotten so far was a 14.2 for example. If you know the car has it in it theres nothing wrong with saying it.

Just slapping on a VTEC sticker and a JDM muffler and saying "omg 11 second Civic" is ghey.

Knowing your car has it in there as long as you clarify you havnt actually acheived that yet doesnt bother me. However, saying that (like its fact) without even having any type of times to begin with is ghey also.

Well hopefully after next weekend when I go to the track I can say "I have an 11 sec. car" if it's cold enough out, and can hook up worth a damn!

I know my car will run 12's. I only need to find a track with -5000 feet DA.

while it's 45 degrees out on a heated pavement track But i agree w/ BurningRubber that if you've been to the track and know your car is a 12.8-12.9 car but can only get 13.1-13.2's its okay to mention your car's capable or is a 12.9 car as long as you note that you haven't gotten it there. I still don't know if calling it a 12 second car is okay tho, since 12.8/12.9 is more 13 seconds than 12. Although i sure know once i break into the 12's ill be calling it a 12 second car out of pride

Whats the problem?? My cobra ran mid 11s with slicks before I owned it. Now that i've bought it, I brought it to the track on street tires and an underpowered stock slipping clutch and ran a 12.9 @ 117.

does that mean I can't say I have an 11 sec car? And that I have a 12 second car? What if that run i did ended up being a 13.0....would I say I had a 13 second cobra with 483rwhp??

Nothing wrong with saying a car is a XXsecond car...if you and everyone KNOWS that, that car is CAPABLE of running that....I know my car is capable of 11s, i jst haven't gotten it there myself personally.

I think you dont have a 12 second or whatever car until you have ran it. I was running 12.2s for a long time but just couldnt get 11s, I knew the car could run 11s on a good day but I always called it a low 12 car. When I finally ran my 11.6 pass is when I started saying I had an 11 sec car. I now think that my car might be a 10sec car when I get done with my winter mods but I will still have an 11 second car untill I get that little slip of paper saying that I ran a 10 second pass.

If you run a 12.99 its a 12 second car. You start talking like you do above here and you're crossing a fine line.... like...whats a 12 second car to you? 12.6? 12.7? how about 12.75? or 12.79?

If you cross the barrier in digits and break a 13.1 down a 12.9 its a 12 second car. PERIOD. especially when you have the time slip to back it up.

First IMO it doesn’t matter if the car has the potential or if the car ran XX.X time with a different driver, it matter what YOU run with the car. That is as bad a magazine racing since you’re is comparing what some else did and that’s what your car should do. If the car is a 12 second car and you’re still a 13 second driver, the car will perform like a 13 second car.

Next, a 12 second car is a car that runs 12s consistently. Not a car that ran a 12.9999 once and runs 13.0-13.2s every other time. I’m mean yes it ran 12 second pass once but that’s it, if that’s the case I would say I have a low 13 - high 12 car.

My car runs 11.6-11.9 consistently which is still having to let off at the 1000' mark every time so my times vary a little. When I was running 12.8s I could make 10 passes in one night and run between 12.82-12.89 EVERY run; not run 12.8 once and 13.0-13.2 the rest of the night. That’s when I said I had a high 12 second car.

I my self would be embarrassed to say I have a 11 second car and run 12s the whole night. I know when I go to the track and other than maybe a bad launch I will run 11s all night long. The last two times I went to the track I have ran a best of 11.64 and average about 11.8s with about 7 runs I had one run that I went 12.09 and that was because I spun like a SOB and had to let out a little.

So I guess what it boils down to is, you can say that your car runs whatever you want to but at the end of the day when you go to the track, that’s what will tell you what you car really runs.

Wow something seems a little wrong here, i've seen my buddy run 12.9 with his set up and he is only pushing 330rwhp...Must be the suspension, he has a sick set up

That was with 428rwhp/433rwtq on street tires and me still trying to get the hang of a notchy t56.

I haven't ran my car at the track with my KB 2.6H setup and most likely won't until I build the rear end. With slicks and a good driver, I'm sure it can do 10s with no problem.

Yeah, I think your car is very capable of low/mid 10's on a good run! Good luck!

To me you can only call your car whatever you have a slip for. I've only run a best of 12.2 @117 and I can guarentee 117 could easily put me in the 11's at a lower elevation track or if I power shifted. Still I only have a 12 second car as far as i'm concerned. As far as ricers having 10 second cars that pisses me off. Nobody respects a 12 second car, they have no idea what it takes to get there. Every kid and his Cobalt SS thinks they have 12 second cars, I'd love to take their money at the track but sadly everytime I talk to one and try to convince them to bring it to the 1/4 instead of the street, they never show. Too embarassed to find out what their car will actually do I guess.
