Alright, I should be getting two sets of polished Cobra R rims soon. The ones I am looking at are 17x8 (+12mm, 4.95" backspace) and 17x9 (+24mm, 5.95" backspace). I don't plan to lower my can any in the far future.

For the 17x8 up front, how wide a tire can I start at? Will the range be something like 235-255,x30-50? I remember searching and found someone saying that 255x40x17 are the max you can run without the tire rubbing.

Now the rear I can run the 17x9 and can I get a range between 255-275, x40-60? My car is an 88 Vert, and I know in the 90+ the wheelwell was expaned. So what type of tire can I run in the back also?

Currently I am running the turbine wheel that came stock on GTs. The tires are 205/65R15.

I've got an 87 and I tried running 245/45/17's on the front and they *barely* rubbed on the front fender, 235/45/17's *should* clear but they didnt have any in stock so i would have had to wait an extra couple weeks so I had 225/45/17's put on

I heard if you flip the quad shocks the tire will fit like you took the shocks off.
