Spare Tire

l am planning a trip down to Monterey CA in August which will amount to 3000 miles in total. l have given thought of finding a 19 inch spare wheel instead of the plug and pump that came with the car. Has anyone gone this route? l just installed the Raxiom Smoked Aero Tail Lights and the Roush lower rocker splitter. l also soda blasted the stock 19's and powder coated them in semi gloss. The next change has to be performance maybe with a chip and tune.

It will not fit in the trunk depression, so it will take up all the room in your trunk.

I have to say love how your car looks. My car is also black and I have the same rims, and like you I plan having them powder coated black. As for your question I'm not 100% sure but I would think that matching the outside diameter of the tire to the stock tires is more important (and less costly) then getting a 19 inch rim. For example a 215/60R17 tire mounted in a factory 17 inch s197 rim has the same outside diameter as the 255/40R19s on your car, will fit the car (provided you have the stock brakes) and should fit in the spare tire well.

thanks for the imfo. l think this makes the most sense and l will check out this approach this week. My car is actually Kona Blue but it appears black in this low light picture. will attach a new one a lighter pic.

i think it will definitely not occupy in the depression because it would occupy the cabin space which would be uncomfortable inside. according to me its too huge.
