looking through all the old service records, the plugs havent been changed for 3 years. my car smells gassy at idol, could this because i have little spark leading to unburned gas? just a thought that crossed my mind and an easy fix.

how many miles are on the plugs? in my experience, when plugs are overdue for a change, one can develop a high speed misfire from the gap erosion and subsequent ignition struggle to bridge the gap.
it sounds like it is time to toss some new plugs on anyhow. cheap copper plugs work great. good luck.
