Have you already looked into bypassing the system amps? I'm not exactly sure where they're located, but I would think that it would require you to run wire around them at some point. I've never changed the speakers out before, but from what I know about the system, I think you'll have to do this.

I always recommend infinity kappa series speakers, they are kinda expensive, but you get what you pay for. You really dont want to skimp on speakers. You can look around and probably find them cheap somewhere, the way I buy all of my equipment is by looking for it on www.etronics.com (they have really cheap prices, really crappy customer service) and then going over to www.sounddomain.com. Sounddomain.com does 105% price match, so if you find the speakers you want at etronics, then just tell sounddomain and they will match the price, then take 5% off of that. Thats how I bought my kappa series speakers, I ended up getting two sets for under 160 bucks. Hope this helps....

the amp for the tweeters was in the stock head unit, they are being run off the alpine now. im going to us the wiring meant for them to run the speakers. the amps for the midrange/woofers are on that box thing in the back, im gonna yank it out of there and snip those wires off, they are no longer needed. give me more room to move my box back farther in the trunk so i can actually put stuff in there too.

Sounds like a plan. I knew you were runnin the tweeters off the head unit but didn't know what your plans were for wiring on the midranges. Sounds like you've got it all set though.

my father in law wants one... he is pushing 60 and wants a little more bass. I think i can make it work if you will label where/what the wires are when you take it out. I will give you $50 plus shipping for it.
