I got a new spec stage 3 clutch disk but no pressure plate. I called spec and they want $200 for the pressure plate. Does anyone know where I can find one cheaper? Is it a bad idea to use a used plate? Can I use a different(company) plate than a spec?

Thanks Dan

You can use any pressure plate that is compatible with the type of clutch you're using (single disk, diaphragm style). It's possible to use a used pressure plate, but not recommended because of the wear pattern with the disk that was used with it, and the possibility of wearing out the new disk prematurely. Check out some high performance dealers that sell clutches, I'm sure one of them will sell a pressure plate with no disk. FRPP sells pressure plates individually, but I'm not sure about the other manufacturers.
