I put a stage 2 in my car in Feb and now it is slipping. It only happens on the spray. I have heard of making a stage 2 hybrid which is suppose to be making it into a stage 3? And should I go with a Spec stage 3 or look at something different? And who has the best prices?

Spec clutches use to carry a good reputation until they wanted to cheap out on the quality of their products. Reason your clutch is slipping can also be because it wasn't installed properly. Are you getting any clutch pedal vibrations with the slipping clutch? I also highly recommend you get a steeda clutch quadrant and firewall adjuster. One more question has your friction point of your clutch move ever since you've gotten the spec clutch?

Heck with the Spec! For a stage II equivalent get a better series Zoom or Centerforce! Or at least get a FRPP King Cobra.

Spec sucks. Nearly everyone that has installed one recently regrets it.. Less than 20K miles and its already time for a change.

I need something equivalent to the stage 3. I'm just not sure who makes one. I don't notice any vibrations. Under normal circumstances it drives fine. The clutch has almost 5k miles on it and around 20+ dyno pulls. I also still have my stock flywheel Getting the steeda adjuster and quadrant is a good idea, I'll most likely do that as well.

Specs seem to be hit or miss. I for one love mine. It bites like mad and doesnt feel like there is a chance in hell of it every slipping. Granted Im not putting out huge #'s or anything, but mine works GREAT!!!

I think the stage II is only good for up to 400-450lb/ft of torque. If your built pretty good and spraying then you very well could be over the 400 mark which could cause your slipping. Just a thought!

I have the stage three. I like it. The material used in the stage 2 is significantly less durable than the stage 3. Try www.kmodifiedracing.com, they have the best pricing I have seen.

I have a SPEC II in my car for one and 1/2 year , I spray a 100 shot on Nittos and it never ever slept on me .

I don't push big numbers ( 315 RWHP & 424 Ft-Lbs torque SAE ) and my car is heavy 3747LBS so if it had to slip it should have been by now .

Maybe your clutch was not adjusted properly or something

I just replace my clutch bearing last month and I took a look at the clutch and it's perfectly good for all summer and probably the next one too..

The torque capacity of the stage 2 SPEC is only 530 and you are pushing 550+ with the 200 shot so it is no wonder that the clutch is slipping.

I am still debating weather to get a SPEC stage 3 or the king cobra myself...
