Is there any noticable power difference by converting sd to mass air? Will mass air alone gain you any extra hp's?

NOPE... In fact, in stock form an SD car will run faster than a MAF car.

If you add Bigger Heads, Intake, etc (save for the cam) the SD car will probably still run harder if you know what you are doing.

When you get into changing the cam, that is where mass airflow systems are better

While you are doing the cam, are you putting some heads on there? Ported / GT-40's? What about an intake?

To take advantage of the E cam (or any cam for that matter) you will need Heads and Intake. They don't need to be the biggest parts, but they will really make your motor happier.

I am using stock heads, although I believe my mechanic ported them...stock intake.

If you are getting your heads ported your will be OK, but you still need to get your stock lower intake ported (the lower only)

You should read these....

www.thumperoforangepark.com
www.tmossporting.com

There you will learn all about ported stock parts.

Edit: corrected spelling
