paintballpyro1:
The VSS is at about 10:30 on the transmission housing as you look at the rear of the transmission towards the engine. VSS comes out with a little gentle wiggling (after the hold-down bolt is removed and the electrical connector is unplugged. The old gear pulls off, the new gear is pressed on. Watch that you don't crush the white teeth (they are very thin). Wiggle the VSS back in place - you will feel when it is seated. Take it easy tightening up the hold-down bolt, it does NOT need to be torqued down a whole bunch. No pics to help you out but it is pretty easy to do.
Word to the wise: plan on getting a SpeedCal ($100 from DallasMustang). You will be putting "ghost" miles on your car. The 23-tooth gear still gives an error of about 3 to 5% with 3.73's and it will be more with 4.10's (about 10 to 15% higher than actual). FWIW, I have been running a SpeedCal for many years and it has been flawless. My speedo/odo error is below 1% now (it was about 3.4% from the factory - not bad).
