I have a 91 gt with cruise control and my speedo doesnt work. I want to fix it but i was wondering if i can just order a $20 speedo cable and fix it even if the cruise doesnt work? Or do i have to order the special one for cruise? I just want it to work i dont care about cruise! Plus i have to replace my driven gear anyways figured id do them both at the same time.

before you order anything make sure its firmly plugged into the back of the cluster and that the gear hasnt pulled out of the tranny.

i had my dash apart about a month ago and i put everything back right it was all tight and good. plus i drove around for a min with the cable unplugged and the center part of it doesnt spin anymore. I think the cables bad. its all cracked and stuff too. the only reason im replacing the gear is cause i went to 4:10s and i want it to read a lil closer to my actual speed.

You can unplug the speedo hook a drill to one side and see if the other spins....if it doesn't spin....then your speedo is busted
