Speedometer problem

I recently had gears installed and now the speedometer is freaking out when I go over about 60mph. I talked to the mechanic that had it done and he says the gears just aren't meshing right and its normal. So how do i fix this? I just installed a new clutch, does this mean i have to take out the tranny again!?

what do you mean by freaking out? what does it do? what gears did you get?

23 tooth speedo gear. or..... are you going to upsize the rear tires at all in the future. If you are, I would just wait and get the speedcal. Brothers performance has it and so does Dallas mustang.

As soon as I get to around 60 it will start twitching and jump to like 50 then jump back to 60 then fall all the way down, just basically going all over the place, and sometimes it will just totally quit working. What exactly does a speedcal do? would it be unnecessary if i wasnt going to change my tire size? what do i need to do to fix it?
