He is asking if the odometer is digital or analog on the dash when you are looking at it.It is quite common for these to fail as I have found out myself. The gear is cheap that runs the odometer/ speedometer but there is a kit out there with better gears (they are molded instead of being pressed). If anyone knows where I can get one of these kits please pm me. Thanks!

My odometer is analog. So there is a gear behind the cluster that needs to be replaced for the speedometer?

either that or you have an electrical problem like a blown fuse or bad vss sensor

make sure the plug on your VSS sensor is all the way in and making a good connection.

50resto has the VSS (vehicle speed sensor) for about $20

its located on the drivers side rear of the transmission, pretty easy to get at.

also check for blown fuses

If the odometer quite working & the speedo is working, then it is the gears inside of the dash cluster. Do a search & there is a place that you can order the 2 little gears. The dash has to come apart to install them.
