So I filled up and my tank was gushing gas out the back of the car. Of course I think the idiot gas guy overfilled, but to be safe I pushed the car away and started away from the pumps. I tried to check and make sure it came out of the overfill thing, but it was dark and too hard to tell.

3 minutes later and there was no leakage at all.

Fast forward 2 weeks to today. I get out of the car and smell noxious gas from the rear. I look under, and sure enough gas is seaping out.

The pipe that goes from the filler to the tank is leaking at the connection right on the tank. It looks as if that rubber gasket thing is torn.

Does anyone know what that piece is called or even the part number? What's involved in replacing it as I'd like to take care of this myself rather than shell out a few hundred for a shop guy who doesn't know much himself..

thanks

I fantasize about it being BIG!
