You want to get the 94-95 setup if you can find them. The later ones make the track wider and can give you tire clearance issues. I have not done it myself but I think you need a spacer of some sort on the lower ball joint and I think I heard that you need an adaptor for the brake line and maybe relocate it, but I dont swear to that.

The 97 spindles look the same, but have an 8mm difference. Ideally you want to use sn-95 spindles up front. They will bolt right on, but you’ll need some washers to stack on top of the ball joints to line the cotter pin hole up on both sides. You need 5 lug rotors, which means 5lug rims…U may need different brake lines as well, I’m no sure about those

so i cant use (1) 97 spindle and (1) 94 spindle. ok thats l;ogical because of the track width. you see i am purchasing a set of front brakes off of 97 gt and the passenger side spindle has a slight tweak on the steering arm or something. so if i could not straighten it out i was gonna go to the local yard and get one out of a 94 they got sitting there.

The “steering arm”(or tie rod) shouldn’t matter since your supposed to use the one on your 88. Use the 94 or 95 spindles and your wont have any problems. Be sure to find out about those brake lines, im still ?? about that.

Read http://svo73mm.cjb.net and Matt answers all of your questions. As far as the 96 up, the steering arms on the spindles are straight on them, and the 94-95 the arms are bent, so you have a difference in the two arms besides the width. You can use the SN95 lines, but you will probably have to use an adapter for the passenger side since the SN95 hose is smaller than the Fox on that side.

If it were me, I would get both spindles from the 94 if you can, and then get the 99+ PBR dual piston calipers.....much better than the 94-97 calipers and not too expensive. We have them locally for $25 each. Look on www.car-part.com and maybe you can find some. Matt has the install info and the slight grinding info needed to install the PBRs on the 94-95 spindles.

Good luck!
