where can i get one and how do i know if a used one is good or not? I went to mavis for a tire plug, they torqued down the lugs includiong the locking lug. They torqued all the lugs down so much, i had to use a jack and jump on the other end of a four way on the regular lug nuts, the key for the lock nuts stripped out and i was unable to do those wheel bearings. weeks later, after just getting the phone # from ford for a new key, i started hearing a little bit of vibration, but I couldn't get the lug off and barely made it home one day. the wheel bearings had ground to **** and I had to get a friend to grind the lug flat on one side to get it off. now, when i changed the wheel bearings, there is play in the wheel after i bring it back after a mile of driving. so i'm not driving it, and the spindle probably need to be changed. how do i know if a used spindle is good? also, where can i get a new one cheap, and is this the problem? lesson learned, no one touches my car.

This is the site to go to for that. It will give you junkyards in your area with the spindle. You can also try the corral for used 87-93 spindles. Good luck. Might as well replace the balljoints while you are there too.

holy crap.....thats a bad story, not sure if their are any parts stores that will have one. you can always try the junk yard, you can tell the condition of them most of the time just by looking at the bearing surface

i would take it back to the shop and have them fix it.

i completely agree about shops screwing up your car, and charging you up the ass at that.
