I just had a shelby spoiler installed in place of my stock wing and it seems to be to heavy for the stock trunk support struts, has anyone else experienced a similar problem? if so what if anything did you do?

Had that same annoying problem with my wife's Nissan. The dealer installed a factory spoiler on a car that didn't come with one. Not only do I have a 4th third brake light, LOL, the trunk closes pretty hard if you're not careful. It has springs instead of lift cylinders so we just deal with it. You might be able to get stronger/higher pressure lift cylinders for your trunk that will help. I think they're pretty much universal as far as the mounting points. BTW, wing looks nice.

Well if it had 4 studs then its authentic, all the cheap Chinese garbage only has 2 (unless he added 2) Don't bother going to autoparts store to look for "stronger" lid shocks, they only make the factory strength, don't let the salesman pull your leg.

stock shocks are warn out, id go with a much stiffer setup, after market would be your best bet.

After doing after market trunk struts on my car, it handled a lot better, especially windy days in the parking lot of wal-mart for example.

I also did the polyester bushings.
