It's me again,

Do I need to use a spring compressor when changing out my front control arms. It is a 1966 coupe and I am replacing the control arms and the guy at the parts store said I probably would not need a compressor to remove the springs????

Your help in this matter is appreciated

Mike

To replace the lower arms you will not need a spring compressor.

To replace the upper arms you will need a spring compressor

You will need an internal spring compressor. Be careful a compressed spring has a lot of energy be sure to treat it with the respect it deserves.

Ive used the external kind several times, im sure the internal kind would be safer though.
