Alright guys, after much research and reading up on this whole suspension thing I think I have come up with the formula. I'm gonna go with Bilstein Shocks and Struts along with H&R Race Springs. I think this combo would suit my car best. One thing that has kinda had me a little shaky is my side exhaust; but if the Cobra R can pull it off I think I can too. Give me some input on this setup I have come up with, maybe the springs can be improved I dunno. Right now it seems like the winner.

just FYI the race springs I've seen usually give a major 4 X 4 appearance. Not sure about the ones you chose, but the ride would become much more bouncy as well. My car hooks pretty danm good. You may check out Strange Engineering 10 way adj. shocks, and struts from Summit / Jegs. Price seemed pretty good for me.

the H&R Race Springs are said to have a 1.25 lower in the front and 1.00 lower in the rear with 750/850 lb/in in the front and 260/280 lb/in in the rear. This is all according to maximum motorsports. So I don't know about that 4 x 4 look you were talking about...

Good choice. That will be a nice setup (I plan on doing the same thing). A couple of fellow Bullitt owners have that combo and love it. Here is a post from one of them:

Another Bullitt owner went with Bilsteins and MRT street springs. The MRT spring rates & drop are very close to the H&R Race springs. MRT states that you do NOT need caster/camber plates with their springs.

- Bilsteins
- H&R Race Springs or MRT Springs
- Pro3i LCAs & UCAs
- MM full length subs
- KB jacking rails
- KB extreme matrix bracing
- KB strut tower brace for Bullitt intake
- Steeda X2 balljoints
- Steeda bumpsteer kit

Sounds good, but definitely get some subframes welded in too. That will tie the whole car together.

I was planning on it, Spin Tech makes excellent full-length subframe connectors to accompany my side exhaust.

Not to hijack the thread, but i saw an add in MM&FF and they had 2000 Cobra R springs for sale. what type of springs are these exactly?? what brand and if anyone knows the spring rate dont be afraid to tell!!!

how about H&R Super Sport Spring & Mach1 Tokico shocks/struts?? this is what i planned to go with... im looking for almost 2 inch drop along with a nice smooth ride but also good cornering and a bit of stiffness

I have the H&R Supersports on my '03 Vert, and I love 'em. One thing though, they are loooow, i was looking under my car the other day and I parked over a pinecone and noticed that my car barely cleared it. But they ride great and I can outhandle my buddie's S2000.

"The 2000 Cobra R is equipped with Eibach coil springs, lowering the car 1.5 inches in the front, and 1.0 inches in the rear. Front spring rate is 800 lb./in., while the rear rate is 750lb./in. These springs make the R 30 to 40 percent stiffer than the production '99 Cobra."

That should answer all your questions about the Cobra R springs. I was trying to find a spring that resembled that so my side exhaust wouldnt really get ****ed up. Those are some hardcore rear springs, stiff ride.

I am also going with the H&R race springs but am going to get the Tokico 5 way shocks so I can soften it up a bit for the strip.

You'll be fine.. Nice choice of parts.. now buy MM LCA's and some subframes
