springs, shocks, struts from '02 GT

Just wondering if the '02 stock stuff from my '02 GT would be an improvment over the worn out stock '91 stuff. I am not sure what the difference in ride height would be and even if all the mounts are the same. Anyhow, If anybody has done this swap please let me know how the installation was and how it changed the ride height. Thanks a lot.

Rear shocks on the 02 are about 1" longer than the Fox body shocks! I'm using Fox body shocks on the rear of my 02.

Thanks for the reply. Do 1" longer shocks make any ride height difference? How about the struts and springs? I am looking for a better ride until I can buy a better set-up. I was hoping that this 02 stuff I have just sitting around could be of some use to me. I guess I might just have to install the stuff and see what happens.

I know the bullit kit which is made for 94+ cars will work on a fox body. That leads me to believe that any setup for the newer cars will work. How it will sit i dont know tho.

I did the swap but you have to use 94-98 stuff. The 99-04 is not going to work for the rear. You have to use spindles off of a 94-98 and can use rotors and calipers from a 99-04. The rears will stick out too far with 99-04 stuff, but the brakes are the same on all 94-04, with the exception when the 99's got dual pistons in the front. It did not change my height any. But it did make it brake way better.

where the hell did u get brakes from? he was asking bout springs and other suspension mods...

I have the Bullitt shocks and struts on my car with the stock springs. They work, and are better than the Monroes I had before. But the struts are longer than the Fox ones. If you keep the same height springs as stock, you should be OK and they shouldn't bottom out on you. I have the SN95 spindles, which have a lower mounting point, so that is not a problem for me, even with the spring isolators removed.

I don't know anything about the stock 02 springs, but I would think they are taller than the Fox ones, especially due to the high ride height of the newer cars and the heavier weight. It's easy to swap the struts and shocks, so I say try that, and if you still think you need new springs, then try some later.

You could always add some CC plates up front, which you should have anyways. I am in the process of putting a Bullitt Suspension on my 92 GT and have got 3 wheels done so far and on all 3 it lowered the car about 1/2" or so.
