Anyone ever use one, or know someone who has used one? If so, is it a good product?

Great product according to others. Also according to what I've heard, it flows more than any other intake you can buy besides the Vortech Mondo Box.

They look cool, and the design is simple, but aren't they a little bit overkill unless you're running boost and/or nitrous? Seems that with no intake plenum runners at all to speak of, there would be absolutely no bottom-end grunt to that kinda setup...? Looks kinda tall for a stock hood, too.

I know! Anyone wanna send me one and I'll see how it works on my car?

Have to agree with some of the guys on this one. Looks like a sweet intake, but what other mods do you have? I'd stick my money elsewhere until you're ready to add head, boost, etc. Go for gears, exhaust, etc. If you add an intake and don't have exhaust for the air to exit, you're wasting your time. good luck!

Compare it to a TFS R box intake. Made for 7000-8000rpm revving.

Yeah, I decided on the Trick Flow Type R, since I'm not gonna be running boost of nitrous for awhile. At least until I'm out of highschool.

just got done installing the sptder on my gt. i went with this ontake because the car is charged. i dont recomend if for a naturaly aspirated car. problem i am having is i have no idea how to hook up the fuel rails. there is alot of work involved with installing the intake. you cant just bolt it on and go. you have to tap the elbow for vacum fittings. there are none pre installed. also you lose the heat crossover tube so you have to re-route the heater core lines if you want heat and so on. i got the polised version. has a nice finish. the spyder II lower is made in japan. if you go with the original spyder it is more but the lower is made in the us. hope this helps. hopefully i can get it running once i finish the fueal lines, will et everyone know how it went.

the spyder II intake is not as good as the spyder because it is not domestic made. They spyder II compared to the spyder isn't finished as well and the ports aren't indentical. These manifolds are meant for high revers (and I mean really high revvers), but its mainly used for forced induction.

The Spyder II is based on a Professional Product lower, where as the Spyder is a E'brock Vic Jr or Super Vic.

The install is easy, if you need help with the rail set-up let me know is is very similar to any other aftermarket rail, the clips are different however.

I'd run a Spyder on any healthy NA, N2O or Boosted combo they make awesome power. Vic Jr for the small cube or high TQ combo's, Super Vic for the high reving or large cube crowd.
