Why not just port-match the heads you have to the headers? Anyone who can remove and install heads should be able to do this. I borrowed a die grinder years ago and was stunned how easy it was to do.

it seems most of the SBF windsor heads have rectangular ports (lots of rectangular shaped gaskets also). i would think headers with square flanges should be available.

these are FPA's for my 351W. they were made with rectangular ports. (not overly impressed with these headers though).

I agree, the only SBF heads I have seen that didn't have square ports were the Crane Fireball heads. These required special Fireball headers.

You don't want the header openings to exactly match the ports. It's best for the headers to be slightly larger to reduce reversion (exhaust pushing back into the engine during valve overlap).

Quite true, something that's mentioned in the link I posted. Even the factory manifolds accounted for this, due to the chance of slight movement of the manifolds before the bolts are torqued.

Many of the after market heads have square ports, and I think some of the ford racing ones do. I know felpro makes a square port gasket as I used it on my highports. My accufab's were made for my square ports.

Hi,
My TRI-Ys have "SQ" ports, as well as, most in the market. Where are you looking that you can't find them. There are a lot of headers for the W-JRs
