Yesterday I got the grease gun out and tried greasing my upper control arms because I am getting some major squeak. It's an annoying sound that happens whenever I run over even a piece of gravel. The grease didn't help, so I'm assuming that's not the problem.

As I listen to the sounds, it sounds like it's coming from my shocks... could old/worn out shocks squeak like that? As I put my ear to the top of the shock tower, that's where it sounds the loudest.

Yes, anything that moves and/or has rubber can squeak. I have had the shaft on shocks cause noise. I have used WD40 in the past. Spray one spot, bounce car several times to see if noise stops. If no, shoot another small area and repeat until squeak stops. Doing one item at a time any bouncing multiple times allows you to pin point the noise easier.

any squeaking I had on my front end was the rubber bushings on the spring perches.

Oh and I forgot the sway bar bushings as well.. these are realatively easily lubed though... You cant really get lube onto the spring perches very well.. And if you use the wrong type, you'll destroy the bushing.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure it's not the sway bar bushings... but they're probably ready to start squeaking soon by the look of them.

I'll check the rubber bushings! Thanks for the tips!
