Alternator went out this weekend went and bought a 3g alternator got it install and now when I rev it over 1500rpms I get a very intense and loud squeal. Poured water on the rib side of the serpentine belt and it goes away. What is going on?
Sounds like the serpentine belt isn't tight enough or the alternator is putting up a lot of resistance. The water treatment is probably just making the whole shooting match slip.
