I was just wondering if anyone know's the gear ratio and how much torque the SROD 4 speed manual trans can handle. Im needing a stronger tranny than my T 5 because of 351 windsor swap. thanks

A Tremec 3550 or TKO is a bolt up to your SROD bellhousing. The 3550 takes the standard Mustang clutch assembly, while the TKO uses a 26 spline chevy clutch disk. The TKO also uses a different yoke on the driveshaft end. I have a Tremec 3550 and it is bullet proof as long as you don't do things like let it run low on lubricant or try shifting without the clutch.

I don`t know how much torque an SROD can handle, but they suck for performance use.4th gear is overdrive in an SROD.

Here`s the ratios...

1st-3.07
2nd-1.72
3rd-1.00
4th-.70
Reverse-3.07

I might have to go with a c 6 automatic to handle the power until I can afford a good manual tranny. I thought some one while back said the srod will hold 300 torque

C-6`s rob a lot of horsepower.
Most guy`s use the C-4 instead or AOD`s.

IIRC, the SROD can handle even less than the T5. When they were in fox's, 150HP was a lot

Get a TKO or 3550.
