was looking through a stang rag tonight and saw the ad for the ss bumper inserts. i finally decided to read the ad and give it some thought. my car is mineral grey with the chrome wheel upgrade and silver graphics. i thought "SALEEN" in ss inserts would be bad azz, but a buddy claimed it would look ghetto as hell. opinions?

I like stainless steel inserts on some Saleens, like Mineral Grey. I think they would make the back end of my car a little to busy. It is a quality product by the way.

I think the SS ones are kinda ghetto, cause they stick out from the bumper a bit, but the vinyl/sticker ones look very nice and almost OEM. I have them on mine. It really makes the rear end have a statement and accentuates the SALEEN on the rear valence. like these cept SALEEN:

I have the saleen sticker inserts like Mstng2 is talking about. I really like them, it is a subtle, factory style look. Best of all, they are silver just like the side stripes and match perfectly! Really makes the back end stand out, silver on mineral grey.

I would vote for the stickers in black or silver any day over the stainless, cheaper and better looking imho. I never liked how the stainless ones stuck out from the surface of the bumper.

I vote definately no on the stainless . I personally wouldn't put anything in there, but then again, my 1996 doesn't give me the option (no Saleen in the bumper cover...) Then again, I'm not a big chrome/stainless type of person. I like some billet in the interior (shifter knob, pedals), but none on the exterior. Just my opinion...

wow, that yellow saleen is bright! thanks for the opinions; here in georgia, some people think that filling in the bumper with anything is redneck as hell. i don't really think so but i never did it because i thought i'd be original and NOT have inserts on the rear. the "saleen" is dark and hard to read becasue it blends in, but peeps who really know something about cars know what it is.

i've never seen carbon fiber inserts... i just got that carbon fiber hood not too long ago, maybe that would be cool? think that i'll just leave well enough alone. not like my car is running right now anyway!
